A Psychedelic Renaissance

Written by Tonya Laden

Before psychedelic research was paused in 1970, psilocybin was being studied for its potential to treat mental health issues, emotional problems, psychological illnesses and ease anxiety in terminal cancer patients.

"Psychedelic renaissance” refers to psilocybin research picking up where it left off and looking at how psilocybin assisted therapy can open the mind and get to the root of emotions much quicker than drug and talk therapy.

How is This Different From Traditional Treatment?

Psilocybin is again being studied as as a powerful tool in healing journeys that can last up to 6 hours. The process includes preparation, psychedelic medicine, licensed clinical support during the experience, and integration afterward.

Early Studies Suggest Potential Benefits For:

Treatment resistant depression
PTSD and trauma related distress
Anxiety, particularly in serious illness
Addiction and compulsive patterns

 Why This Matters Now

The United States is experiencing a Mental Health crisis with 1 in 4 adults living with mental illness. Traditional treatments are not effective for everyone and alternative approaches are proving to be effective and durable.

If the psychedelic approach sounds like something you may want to explore, simply reach out and I can help connect you with a good fit in our trusted, carefully vetted network of therapists.

Please note, Psilocybin is not a cure and it is not appropriate for everyone. Access remains limited as only Oregon and Colorado have legalized Psilocybin Assisted Therapy.
